Legislation
The European GFS and the excessive deficit procedure (EDP) statistics are based on a series of legal instruments:
ESA 2010 – methodology and data transmissions
- EU regulation 549/2013 on the European system of national and regional accounts in the European Union (applies since 1 September 2014)
- EU regulation 2023/734 amending EU regulation 549/2013 on the European system of national and regional accounts in the European Union and repealing 11 legal acts in the field of national accounts (applies from 1 September 2024)
ESA 2010 was implemented in September 2014. A book version and an interactive version are available.
ESA 2010 data are transmitted to Eurostat in line with the ESA 2010 transmission programme.
Derogations
- Commission implementing decision 2014/403 on granting derogations to Member States with respect to the transmission of statistics pursuant to EU regulation 549/2013 concerning the European system of national and regional accounts in the EU
